Theatre

The Friends of the Performing Arts (FoPA) supports DS Drama by providing extensive production support, purchasing equipment, and funding improvements to the performance space.

DSRS Drama produces 4 or 5 shows each year:

    • Middle School Fall Musical
    • High School Fall Play
    • Middle School Spring Play / METG One-Act
    • High School Spring Musical
    • High School METG One-Act (not each year)

DS students can be involved in these productions as actors, stage crew, lighting crew, sound crew, members of the pit orchestra, set building, costume design, hair & make-up, poster & program design, and more.

Drama

The Middle School and High School plays are an opportunity to students to be involved in a production focusing on dramatic technique, contemporary classical or comedic subject matter. Each year, one of the Middle School One-Act plays competes at the METG festival. The High School also competes on years when the METG festival dates do not conflict with HS scheduling.

For information about the fall play, contact director Carmel Bergeron.

Audition dates are posted on the DSRS Drama Page.

Musical Theater

The musical theatre program offers students an ama

Extra-curricular mainstage musical performed in the early spring featuring a large cast, crew and pit orchestra. Auditions are held in December.

For information about the HS Musical, contact director, Scott Walker or musical director, Geoffrey Herrmann.

Audition dates are posted on the DSRS Drama Page.
